Bly haf been getting a lot of queshuns fwum my fwends about gardening dis time of yeow, natuwally hehehe. Sho I picked fowr that I thought could help all of yewww in your gardening bladventures yewww.

Blokay, wet’s get cwackin’
on dis monfth’s queshtshuns…

Q: Dear Cheffy, I think I had a problem with over-crowing in my garden. Is there anything I can do to help my plants have their own space once they have sprouted? - Veronica from Des Moines, Iowa

A: Dis ish a blamazing queshun, fank yew. Yewww abshowutwy can help wif pwants dat need a little personal space. If yowr pwants are seedwings, pwease wait until they haf one or tewww sets of leaves that sprout to ensure they will survive any movement. If so, gently upwoot the plant yewww would like to move, keeping an eye out for the root system, as to not cut too make roots in the process. Replant your young plant and be sure to give it a good water, some of its blavorit music and fresh soil/fertilizer. Blokay fank yew sho much for your queshun, bly haf to go stop a wunaway tumbleweed!

Q: Dear Tiny Chef, I’m having trouble choosing what plants I should grown in my garden. Any ideas or favs you would recommend? -Preston from New York City, New York

A: Bloh my moogness, dis queshun is such a fun one. Bly wemembow when I was stawrting my blirst garden. Bly am SHO excited for yewww! Well blirst fings blirst, fwend, yewww gotta do a wittle research! So hit da books, Bly tell ya! Hehehe Time to find out what pwants gwow best in your wegion, and what pwants should be pwanted when. Once you get da hang of your first cwop, the exciting fing is you can pwant othow cwops in your garden in da off-season! Cwispin goes by what fruits and veg will match his season outfits, but he’s alsho a pwetty season gawdener, tewww. That guy is styling from head to toe to turnip! Pwease keep me posted on what you decide is wight for yowr garden and happy pwanting! Blokay gotta go to my singing wessons, fank yew!

Q: Dear Chef, I love fresh produce but I don’t really have the time or space to care for a garden. Is there any way I can get garden fresh veg without having to grow it myself? - Clarice from Vincennes, France

A: MABSHOWUTWY! Yew know, sometimes fwends are a wittle hesitant to ask me queshuns like dis because they know Bly lub tewww garden. But one of da BESHT things about gawdening is sharing it wif fwends! So wif dat said, I would start in your own neighborhood. Is there a fwend yewww know who is growing something? Maybe offer to help purchase soil or tools in exchange for some of their harvest! A lot of communities have weekly Fawrmer’s Market’s and Co-ops where you can find fwesh off da vine pwoduce and support your community farmers! And if those aren’t an option, maybe gathow your fwends in your community to work together for care for a little gawden, togethow! This way, da cost and cawr doesn’t fall only on yewww. Pwease let me know wut yewww find! Blokay, I am off to sign some papers for Pioneewtown wif Co-Mayor Sam before he eats them…

Q: Hi Tiny Chef! I just love watching you cook but I have to admit, I am not the biggest fan of trying new vegetables I haven’t heard of. Any advice for a reluctant vegetable connoisseur? - Gerald from Leicestershire, UK

A: Blirst of all fwend, Bly am sho gwateful dat yewww shawred dis wif me. We all haf fings we awr a little scared tewww dewww. Sho jusht know yowr not awone in dat! Secondly, I would say, start wif da vegetables yewww lub. Find weshipees dat incowpowate yowr blavorwit wif a new addishun! Mi fwends at Veganuary haf a ton of blamazing and DEWICIOUS weshipees to get yewww excited about new fwavors in yowr blegetable wepitoire! Yewww can check out theyow weshipees here! Blokay, pwease let me know wut new veg becomes yowr blavorit, Bly bewieve in yewwww!
