As we celebrate Chef’s Inauguration this month (!!!), we’re excited to look back at Chef’s first days in Pioneertown and what led him to his new journey. The last 6 months have been a whirlwind of excitement for Chef and we can’t wait to share more with you on how it all got started in this two-part Diawy Entry! Blenjoy!
The days after leaving México were tough, I missed my new friends sho much. I was a little lost again, but I knew that if I just listened to my heart and the sound of the desert, and answer would be heard. I drove through the night, singing all my favorite tunes, just me, the stars, and the open road. Just before dawn, my eyes were getting tired, and safety first is always my motto!
I still seemed a bit far from a place to stay, so I decided to pull of the road and take a snooze. Diary, I could not have been prepared for what happened next. A few hours later, I woke up with a jolt! The truck was hit! Or so I thought. The windshield looked strange, like I was stuck under some roots of a tree! Could you believe it, Diary!?
And then I realized, a tumbleweed had landed right on my truck! I was surprised, shocked, and couldn’t help but laugh, Diary, oh what a story this would make. But then I realized, I was also…trapped. I was just about to pick up the phone to call Bashem, when I heard the strangest sound, Diary. I heard…chewing?!
I looked out the window and to my surprise, I see an incredibly handsome goat chewing away at the tumbleweed! I screamed for joy and instantly rolled down the window to help him. We had a wonderful chat after his snack and I learned his name was Mister Sam, the Deputy Mayor of Pioneertown!!!
THERE’S A TOWN CALLED PIONEERTOWN, DIARY?!!? And it just so happened that I stopped right before their city limits! I could not believe it. So Deputy Mayor Sam took me around his glorious town. Introduced me to the illustrious Mayor, Donkey Hote and so many amazing citizens. And right off main street, there was the most beautiful sight, a wine barrel home, and Diary it was for SALE.
I had an immediate feeling this was exactly where I needed to be. The stars are just so LOVELY at night, Diary. So peaceful, so still.
So that day, I walked into the saloon and used my emergency debit card from Bashel to pay the deposit on my new home! The entire community came to greet me and welcome me. They were all SO lovely, Diary. One of my neighbors said he felt I would be a wonderful addition to the community and might even make a great Mayor someday. Could you imagine…
Love,
